Latin Show Finale - August 2012 - Show #120

Dear listeners,

Latin Soul just came to its end. It was a wonderful radio experience. I hope it served for listeners from Commerce, Texas and surroundings (up to Metroplex) as a source to enjoy the music that made Latin Soul a distinct show in the airwaves.

Thanks to all who listened, supported the show, and who read this blog as well. Some called to the station, or sent emails from time to time. I really appreciated so. Also, I enjoyed posting the playlist and doing some album reviews, which I tried to keep steady, but did not succeed.

Special thanks to KETR for having had the show on the air for almost four years. My gratitude goes to Jerrod Knight in the administration, who always was supportive; and specially to Matt Meinke, at the studio, helping out, leaving things ready for always having a technically smooth Latin Soul show on the air. He was always very patient and helpful.

Thanks to others who also helped, like Kevin Jefferies; the former news director; and the current one, Mark Haslett. Thanks to my studio assistant, the student worker who accompanied me for some months in the beginning.

It always was a live show, except for some occasions with a pre-recorded show, or some rerun. Hope you enjoyed it, as I always enjoyed bringing it to you!

Next, you may read the last show playlist, show #120!  It has been a while since this show aired and information comes in the blog, though. The cycle ends now, nonetheless. For the last show, I tried to play tunes that I used to call the show favorites. Those tunes around which the idea of a radio show grew up and used to come on the air time and time again. This playlist is a good summary of what Latin Soul was.

Thanks to all for listening, hope we can meet sometime somewhere again in the airwaves!

David Hervás, Ph.D.
Latin Soul Host
